The De*WriteSites Difference

How Deah Works and What to Expect

Distance is no obstacle -- you don't need to hire a local designer.  Deah has worked with solopreneurs all across the US, with clients in:

  • Alaska

  • Arizona

  • California

  • Delaware

  • Florida

  • Georgia

  • Illinois

  • Indiana

  • Maine

  • Maryland

  • Massachusetts

  • Michigan

  • Minnesota

  • New Jersey

  • New Mexico

  • New York

  • North Carolina

  • Ohio

  • Oregon

  • Texas

  • Utah

  • Washington

Working by email and phone with Deah, there is no wasted time in endless meetings and commuting through traffic to get together. This means that your website gets done more quickly because the work time is used for actual work instead of multiple discussions, parking, and time out of the office.

You won't be viewed as a prospect or the chance to upsell  -- and relentless pushing to persuade you to hire De*WriteSites is NOT how this works.  Deah doesn't pressure people to work with her. She believes that when you understand the advantages of hiring her expertise and honesty, you will do so.

This means that she prefers you to approach her when you are ready to commit to the process. In the meantime, De*WriteSites provides helpful tips and resources on blog posts and two Facebook pages. Many of these tips are written for the do-it-yourselfer, based on comments and questions received. Check those out, and when you need more direct and personal assistance, email for a consult.

You have 100% control of your website -- you'll never be held hostage to a design firm again.  Deah believes in empowering clients by giving you full access to your webhosting account and site editing tools at the end of the design and content writing project.

This means that you pay your annual web hosting renewal fees directly to Wix (and any 3rd party domain host and premium apps that might be used), instead of De*WriteSites charging you an increased price for holding that financial responsibility, and limiting your access.

Built-in understanding of what your business entails -- you won't have to spend time educating Deah about the primary focus of your site and content. You know when you hire De*WriteSites that you're getting a professional with direct knowledge and experience that pertains to what you need to attract clients.

De*WriteSites' mission is specific to helping solopreneurs in the healing and helping arts, rather than accepting projects from just any ole business. But Deah can recommend web development firms better suited for large corporate entities, restaurants, recreational companies, and retail shops.

Every De*WriteSites website is done personally by Deah -- you won't be speaking with her to contract the project, but then have the work farmed out to someone else. This continuity from start to finish ensures that no communication gets lost in the cracks. When it's part of your package, Deah also does all the content writing or editing. You can be certain that you are getting the highest professional level of personal attention and business ethics when you hire De*WriteSites.

Occasionally it is possible that a special request  -- such as logo design or ecommerce set up -- will need to be handled by another professional. Usually in these cases Deah prefers to screen, hire, and supervise for that specific task so that you don't have the frustration, but will have the same level of quality that Deah provides. You would pay these additional professionals directly -- and there's no upcharge from Deah for facilitating the extra expertise.

In most cases the extra professional will also be a certified WixPro, so you are assured that their work will be technologically compatible with your website.

De*WriteSites designs exclusively with Wix -- after years of exploring other website builder tools including SquareSpace, Weebly, GoDaddy, WordPress and others you may not have heard of, Deah has proven that Wix is the absolute best choice for the small budget solopreneur who wants to be able to make occasional content changes without incurring a big expense.

Wix has grown to more than 120 million users world-wide as of 2019 and a good part of the reason is that it's security is extremely strong -- you never hear of a Wix site getting hacked (but you hear of WordPress getting hacked all the time).

Wix handles the major techie updates so that you don't have to. Seldom if ever do Wix updates crash sites, or cause routine and special functions like online schedulers, email forms, social media streams, videos, and PayPal buttons to stop working -- but these kind of hassles happen frequently with other websites (especially with WordPress).

When there are technology issues, Wix has a full support team plus at least 2 very active professional groups on Facebook that Deah can consult for you if she can't fix the problem herself, as part of your webmastering fee.

Why I've Retired

It's possible this will come as a surprise to you -- it certainly has snuck on me that I'm well past retirement age. Over the last year or so, my heart has been pulled in other directions, and while I still love the creative aspects of website design, I want to use my time making a life rather than devoting my energies to making a living. So I plan to travel, attend writers' retreats, work on learning to take good iPhone photos, and just be open to where my spirit guides take me. I have also stepped back from my esoteric work for 2020, and who knows what the future holds for that.

Please see the blog post for my two Wix designers who have earned my highest recommendations for serving my client niche.

All the Best to You!
