First, what the heck is webmastering?  Well, simply put, it's the ongoing care and feeding of your website.  That includes adding and changing content, swapping out photos, doing the alt tags you might not have known about, ensuring the links and payment buttons keep w...

Something occurred with one of my clients this week, and it prompts me to write this post. Life has been directing her away from her independent business, and she decided to scale back on marketing expenses. That lead to terminating her website. Somehow her domain also...

It happens to designers, and to do-it-yourselfers as well. We change page names and then forget to change the meta tag (SEO) and page settings. So the page shows up with a confusing, mismatched set of names. This typically happens in Wix when we duplicate an existing p...

Blog tags and categories are a little like pigeon holes. They help your readers enter the world of your writing for internet marketing, and find what they are looking for, perhaps along with new ideas they didn't know they wanted to look for.

Or, put another way, they a...

Do you have a Privacy Policy and Terms of Website Use page on your website?  If you don't, this is something to take care as soon as you can.  There are three good reasons --

Your Wix blog provides the option for both tags and categories to help boost the search engine optimization (SEO) of your blog posts. Both tags and categories function like keywords, with tags being more fine tuned or specific than categories.

Curl up, get a drink, get comfortable -- this is going to be a long but important blog post. Vital to understanding how websites work is having a solid knowledge of the three inter-related hosts that are required for potential clients to find and contact you.  These th...

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the un-fun part of internet marketing, as far as I'm concerned. It's too close to tracking statistics and doing math for my taste, when I'd much rather immerse in the aesthetics of web design and the magic of content writing.

While yo...

Every profession has its insider jargon and inherent protocols. As a therapist, yours is often found in diagnostic and treatment shorthand. As a healer, yours might be found in ailment acronyms and specialty providers. As a psychic, your jargon could be drawn from spir...

Why I've Retired

It's possible this will come as a surprise to you -- it certainly has snuck on me that I'm well past retirement age. Over the last year or so, my heart has been pulled in other directions, and while I still love the creative aspects of website design, I want to use my time making a life rather than devoting my energies to making a living. So I plan to travel, attend writers' retreats, work on learning to take good iPhone photos, and just be open to where my spirit guides take me. I have also stepped back from my esoteric work for 2020, and who knows what the future holds for that.

Please see the blog post for my two Wix designers who have earned my highest recommendations for serving my client niche.

All the Best to You!
