Lawsuits against website owners who are not in compliance with web accessibility standards dictated by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WACG) 2.0 Level AA have become a thing -- and a rather expensive, PIA thing, too if you lose in court or pay a settlement fe...

I'm old school. I still work primarily on a desktop computer, although occasionally I do blog from the laptop while watching -- okay, actually while just listening to --  the news. Once, mostly just to see what all the fuss was about, I blogged from my phone. See...

It happens time and again -- solopreneurs who aren't tech-minded often misplace or never know the vital information needed by tech support people when a problem arises. Basic issues like the domain not connecting to the website, or the email not forwarding to the right...

There are probably many ways to analyze my tendency to over-explain techie stuff and the intersection of marketing psychology and website design to my clients. Some I know actually want to learn, and others need to know. Goddess knows, none of us got this kind of educa...

Your Wix blog provides the option for both tags and categories to help boost the search engine optimization (SEO) of your blog posts. Both tags and categories function like keywords, with tags being more fine tuned or specific than categories.

I don't like feeling as though I'm lecturing my clients.  And sometimes I catch myself perhaps explaining more than you care to know. I do feel a sense of obligation to ensure you have all the info you need about what is good practice, legal, or counter-productive, whe...

One of the things that often delays the launch of a new website is personal photography. Sometimes this is because the client is waiting on a professional photo shoot, or is camera shy. Let me address the second obstacle first.

These days, having at least a small social media presence is absolutely essential for building a business.  While no individual post is likely to result in a new client, using at least one of the major social media platforms -- Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Instagram, Yo...

Why I've Retired

It's possible this will come as a surprise to you -- it certainly has snuck on me that I'm well past retirement age. Over the last year or so, my heart has been pulled in other directions, and while I still love the creative aspects of website design, I want to use my time making a life rather than devoting my energies to making a living. So I plan to travel, attend writers' retreats, work on learning to take good iPhone photos, and just be open to where my spirit guides take me. I have also stepped back from my esoteric work for 2020, and who knows what the future holds for that.

Please see the blog post for my two Wix designers who have earned my highest recommendations for serving my client niche.

All the Best to You!
