Lawsuits against website owners who are not in compliance with web accessibility standards dictated by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WACG) 2.0 Level AA have become a thing -- and a rather expensive, PIA thing, too if you lose in court or pay a settlement fe...

Using the Wix platform to build your own website is not especially complicated, but it will take time and the specific (but minor) skills listed below. If you don’t have a couple weeks to a month to devote to browsing through templates, experimenting with editing tools...

First, what the heck is webmastering?  Well, simply put, it's the ongoing care and feeding of your website.  That includes adding and changing content, swapping out photos, doing the alt tags you might not have known about, ensuring the links and payment buttons keep w...

Are you a volunteer, staff member, or member of a board of directors for a 501(c)3 non-profit organization?  Do you have a feeling that your organization's website could be performing better for you than it is, but not sure how to accomplish that? Maybe your organizati...

There is a lot of talk among Wix designers about the old blog versus the new. Some designers think there are more visual design options for the new version, but there are drastic downsides. Personally, I install the old blog on all my clients' sites because the feature...

Why I've Retired

It's possible this will come as a surprise to you -- it certainly has snuck on me that I'm well past retirement age. Over the last year or so, my heart has been pulled in other directions, and while I still love the creative aspects of website design, I want to use my time making a life rather than devoting my energies to making a living. So I plan to travel, attend writers' retreats, work on learning to take good iPhone photos, and just be open to where my spirit guides take me. I have also stepped back from my esoteric work for 2020, and who knows what the future holds for that.

Please see the blog post for my two Wix designers who have earned my highest recommendations for serving my client niche.

All the Best to You!
